Being a medic and just studying for being one is a big disadvantage because you will need to study A LOT and pretty much for the rest of your life because there are every year new diseases that need to be treated and only in America the average of 40% of the students drop out of the College of Medicine. In the other hand being a medic can be a really intresting thing if you love what you're doing and you also love helping people which I think it's worth all of the effort you will put if in the end you're happy that you became one. Also you will get in most countries a lot of money if you will work hard enough and your salary will raise depending on how long you worked.
In the end if you dream of becoming one you should work hard because hard work never betrays you and you most likely end up happy with the results.
